Get in the mood with interior designer Chris Goddard, principal designer + owner, at Goddard Design Group in Fayetteville. We asked Chris to create a vision board (shown above) that represents his winter mood and current creative mode sharing the various elements and experiences that are providing inspiration to him.
“The key to giving a space a sense of history is the mixing of old and new items. I have paired an antique Venetian door knocker, a jeweled dragon evening bag from Judith Leiber, and a modern plate. All exist in harmony on a bed of luscious green textiles.” —Chris Goddard, Goddard Design Group

Green mixes with everything! A colorful scarf from Hermés and an antique Murano glass ashtray (upper left) mix effortlessly with the green graphic and animal printed fabrics.
An Empire style platter (upper right) is from Bernardaud’s Constance collection. Acorns, along with Oak and laurel leaves are delicately arranged, and the green is accented in gold – perfect for a formal dinner party.
This plate (lower left) comes from Chris’ favorite artist, Kehinde Wiley. “I love his naturalist painting on ornate backgrounds and his use of green to accent his portraits.” – Chris Goddard, Goddard Design Group
A collection of antique shagreen eyeglass cases rest on a variety of layered shades and textures from Jim Thompson Fabrics (lower right). A vintage brass bar pops against the emerald green wall.
